The Original Starcraft

Starcraft 1 was released in 1998. Back in the day, the game was extremely popular. The game's campaign was split into 3 episodes, each episode allowing the player to control one race. The first race you control was the Terran army. Three important characters in the Terran army are Arcturus Mengsk, Jim Raynor, and Sarah Kerrigan. At the end of this episode, Mengsk leaves Kerrigan and her company of soldiers for dead, to be killed by the Zerg. Because of this Raynor, leaves Mengsk and his army, and starts a band of rebels which is the main storyline of Starcraft 2. While Raynor is doing this, Mengsk defeats the Confederates and declares himself Emperor and calls his new army, the Terran Dominion. In the second episode you find out that Kerrigan was not killed, but captured and is being turned into a Zerg Queen. She hatches and starts wreaking havoc towards the Protoss and the Terran. To try to slow down the Zerg, one of the Protoss sides with a Dark Templar called Zeratul and he destroys one of the big parts of the Zerg. However while doing this, the Zerg Overmind manages to read Zeratul's mind and discovers the location of the Protoss home world, which the Zerg has been looking for for years. This leads into the third episode, where the Protoss start fighting each other because of the fact one of their kind sides with a Dark Templar. However meanwhile the Zerg is attacking and despite the heavy defense by the Protoss the Zerg Overmind manages to put himself in the planet's core. Zeratul however, uses his power to destroy two more key parts of the Zerg and eventually the Protoss manage to get the Zerg off their home world. After players complete the Campaign, they can jump into multiplayer, where people can use different strategies against each other to win. Starcraft 1 is still played in some professional tournaments today.
