Video Games- Old and New

About this page

This page is the information page of old games that I have played or heard of and I liked. This page will probably be bigger than the others, since there are many old games I like. I will also rate the games depending on my experience with them to allow people to decide whether to buy them or not or see a walk-through of the game on Youtube.

Dark Cloud: Your Classic RPG

The game Dark Cloud is one of my favorite games for the PS2. Dark Cloud was released in North America in 2001 and my parents picked it up for me in the year 2005. The game is over 20 hours long and can be really fun and addictive. The game starts off in a weird place, where you find a lot of people dancing in front of a large urn. 2 humans walk in and they see the urn, where a giant genie sprouts from. The genie eats one of the people, and makes the other one his assistant. While this is happening, a festival is happening in the town known as Norune Village where the main character lives. The genie decides to make destruction and destroys the village like many others. Your hero, named Toan, goes into a dreamlike state, where he meets the Fairy King, Simba. Simba tells Toan that he trapped the people in things called Atla, and that Toan has to free them. He gives Toan something to free them which, and tells him to find a beast called Dran, and the story starts from here. You find the mayor who is the only other person that didn't get put into Atla, and he gives you supplies and the key to the Divine Beast Cave, where Dran is and the people you need to free. You venture into randomly generated dungeons, defeating monsters and activating Atla and getting treasures. After each floor, the Atla goes into a menu called the Georama Menu, and you can actually rebuild the town the way you like it, and there is even a reward for building the town the people want it to be. When you fully complete a building, the people will even give you an item for you to use. After completing the first village you continue to progress until you reach the Dark Genie, but by the time you meet him you will have 5 other allies that help you. In total the game has 7 different villages you can explore, and 5 special characters for the first 5 villages after your original village. The game's music is also extremely good, and the game is also very challenging, but not enough so you can't beat something. In my honest rating scale from 1 through 10, I give Dark Cloud, a 9/10. The game is very good but there are a few problems such as some characters being very bad no matter what, and the weird camera angles that occasionally happen Below is one of the 42 titles of music in the game
